For travelling in February, including preparations for Bangladeshi travellers
Welcome to our Sri Lanka travel knowledge base where you will find out travel tips - visa, flight, famous train ticket bookings, food, hotels, tourist places, specialties etc.
We made the journey during the second week of February and from Bangladesh.
Why go to Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka is a three-hours flight distance from Bangladesh and affordable. It’s mountains are beautiful and luscious, its tea gardens are bright green, sky is bright blue, Indian ocean hits this island with huge bluest waves. We travelled the country to “see” beautiful landscape. That we saw, but what we did not foresee was how we would admire the people, their culture, clean city and clean habits. People eat clean, healthy food, make tea without any hassle, drink tea without sugar or milk (tea tastes so good just in plain hot water!), juice doesn’t come with sugar. Cities are a mixture of modern buildings and British era architecture — both clean and maintained to this date! People follow traffic rules, no food stall in the park. There are many European tourists in tourist places, and you get to see their culture too when you visit this country. In one sentence, Sri Lanka felt to me like a carefully decorated home of a small town middle class family — its furnitures and China sets from the family’s wedding period boasting in the living room, everything is decorated with love, the family living in the house very happy and hospitable and always welcomes you!
